Residual introduces players to a new breed of survival platformer developed by OrangePixel.
Set in a forgotten galaxy brimming with strange planets, the game follows a lone explorer who crash-lands on one particular planet harboring an ancient alien secret. Players are immersed in the quest as they navigate through the rugged, procedurally generated world, dealing with various challenges like hunger, cosmic storms, hostile flora, and enigmatic hazards such as the mysterious ooze.
To survive, players must scavenge for food, create campfires for warmth, and craft advanced science-fiction tools like teleporters and mining devices. Uncovering alien technology scattered across the planet becomes paramount as it holds the key to repairing the explorer's ship.
Accompanying the player on this perilous journey is PDB, a witty floating Personal Disaster Bot who alternates between aiding and amusing adventurers. PDB plays a crucial role in unraveling the hidden lore of the planet as players delve deeper into its mysteries.
OrangePixel's Nature Engine stands out for its innovative design, effortlessly generating thousands of diverse planets based on distinct environmental rules.
